This happened within the framework of implementation of Practices of interaction of marketplaces with right holders and sellers in order to prevent the sale of couterfeit products, the agency said in a press release.

A document consolidating such practices was developed in July 2023 by representatives of the RCCA (non-profit Russian Corporate Counsel Association), the FAS of Russia, marketplaces and rights holders. As a result of the application of the guidelines, Wildberries, Ozon, Yandex Market and AliExpress Russia blocked 2,066,806 product cards in the first quarter of 2024.

The Service notes that 4,498,816 product cards have been blocked on marketplaces since the document was signed.

"Blocking is based on the results of analyzing complaints of right holders, as well as the results of expert examinations, control purchases and documents confirming the origin of goods. This allows marketplaces to make informed decisions,"

FAS reported.

"Red flags" can help identify unoriginal goods, including: a price significantly lower than the average price for a product, a significant number of returns due to improper quality, and a number of other indicators.

According to marketplace statistics, the most cards with counterfeit goods were blocked in such categories as electronics, lighting equipment, construction tools, cosmetics and sportswear.

The Fair Practices Mechanism is designed to ensure the sale of original products and exclude unfair behavior of sellers on marketplaces.
